Education Focussed (EF) roles were introduced to enhance educational excellence at UNSW by supporting academic staff who have chosen to focus fully on educational endeavours. The EF Career Development team work directly with EF academics to develop and harness their educational capabilities, as well as advocate for their success individually and as a community.
Associate Professor Louise Lutze-Mann
is the Director, Education Focussed Career Development
Louise leads the Education Focussed Career Development team. She is an Education Focussed academic and teaches a range of Science courses from large (1000 students) to small senior courses (30 students) and to students in both the basic sciences and in professional degrees, in three different faculties. She has previously served as Director of Teaching in the School of BABS. She is a member of the UNSW Scientia Education Academy, and has been the recipient of nine teaching awards, including a National Teaching Excellence Award in 2014. She has conducted research on the use of blended learning and online resources in teaching. During her tenure at UNSW, she was invited to participate in the development of academic programs for a new university in the California State System.
