The Moodle Enhance project has improved the student and staff experience in Moodle by introducing:

  • a new Moodle design with a renovated look and feel, which meets current web standards and allows users to access the latest improvements from annual Moodle upgrades.
  • a course template with minimum standards to present key course information consistently across Moodle courses. This structured layout eases navigation and enables opportunities to generate rich learning analytics.

The new Moodle design will form the basis of an increasingly integrated digital learning environment for UNSW over coming years. It was iteratively co-designed with students and staff, and validated in over 100 courses (including programs) and across 10,000 students. Following positive pilot outcomes and close consultations with faculties, the new Moodle design will be progressively applied to all courses university-wide from T3 2022. Faculty-specific plans will be communicated in the following weeks.

UNSW staff can check out the new Moodle design and see what students and staff have to say about it on this page. Staff can also lodge an expression of interest to use the Moodle Enhance theme and course template ahead of T3 here.
