Established in October 2016, the UNSW Scientia Education Academy (SEA) recognises our most outstanding educators for their leadership and contributions to enriching education, and gives them a platform to showcase and facilitate excellence in teaching at UNSW and beyond.
Appointed from across all UNSW faculties, the Scientia Education Fellows share a genuine passion to inspire students to achieve their absolute best and to be engaged with every learning experience.
What is the purpose of the Academy? Hear from the Academy's Inaugural Director (2016-2018), Professor Chris Tisdell
The Fellows champion educational excellence by:
- enhancing the profile and quality of teaching and learning within the University
- providing inspirational leadership and vision with contributions to educational scholarship and policy
- promoting improvements in teaching practice through individual and group projects
- modelling collegial approaches to mentoring within the education community.
