Supporting our linguistically and culturally diverse students

Focus on linguistically and culturally diverse students: Challenges, strategies, support

This session will unpack challenges of multilingual students, for whom English is not the first language. It will offer some strategies and practical ways of addressing those challenges from the perspective of an English as a Second Language and linguistics educator. The focus is on language and communication skills and how to approach delivering feedback in this area.

The aim of the session is to spark reflection around this topic in the context of the attendees’ own teaching processes, classroom management techniques and feedback strategies, as well as to offer practical suggestions of support for those students.
