Presented by Dr Nathan Jackson

MATHS Project: Flipped Tutorials with the Merlin Crossley School Studio
  • The MERLIN Studio, located in and run by the School of Mathematics and Statistics in the Anita B. Lawrence Centre, is a versatile recording and streaming studio. The studio has been developed with academics from the School to meet their research and teaching needs, foregrounding flexibility and simplicity to allow users to focus on the content and delivery rather than set up.
  • We will walk through how the studio has been set up with these underlying values and demonstrate its value through the development of short-form videos to aid first year maths students with exam preparation.
  • We will further demonstrate how these videos have been organised and distributed to students through the use of a Moodle database.
