Under new leadership, the Nexus Program enters an exciting phase

In 2026, the Nexus Program enters an exciting new phase under the leadership of Prof. Patsie Polly, building on the strong foundations established by A/Prof. Anne Galea (2024–2025). Over the past two years, the program has progressed through discovery and development, shaping innovative responses to complex challenges in higher education at UNSW.
The 2026 methodology introduces an evidence-based approach to visualising activities, outputs, and outcomes, aligned with the Progress for All strategy. This strengthens the program’s capacity to demonstrate impact and supports the translation of initiatives into meaningful curriculum transformation, enhancing both student experience and staff capability.
Since its inception, the Nexus Program has grown from seven faculty-based teams into a connected, cross-institutional community. Nexus Fellows and Nexus Educational Developers (NEdDevs) now collaborate through Guilds and Squads to co-design solutions across six key themes: Assessment and Feedback; Belonging and Wellbeing; Learning Technologies and Digital Literacies; Work-Integrated and Industry-Relevant Learning; Societal Impact; and Diversity and Inclusion.
As Program Director, Prof Patsie Polly works alongside the Nexus Program Team (NPT) -Douglas McKeough (Program Lead), Arjun Radhakrishnan (Senior Project Officer), and PVCE Nexus Fellows Dr Benjamin Phipps (Societal Impact Squad Lead) and Dr William Scates Frances (AI Guild Lead) - as the program continues to drive innovation and impact across the University.
